Mobile Marketing Jobs

new-picture

Brand Republic ‘First for advertising, marketing, media and PR jobs’ are currently seeking to fill 3 manager jobs for ‘3 mobile’. The logo and brand awareness says enough about the company so the recruitment can focus on the job and candidate.

O2

are also looking to recruit a ‘Brand & Social Media Insights Manager’ and it makes you wonder what intellectual assets are created with job titles and positions.
In my experience job titles signpost both internally and externally and there clever use creates  an intangible asset.

Image Rights Own Goal?

Manchester United may face litigation for unpaid tax on ‘image rights’ paid to footballers as part of remuneration according to their fund raising prospectus.
Sol Cambell has issued a writ claiming his £30,000 per week was not paid by Portsmouth FC, in line with his contract, to his personal Swiss trust.
In France a high court corruption action is pending which will involve the abuse of image rights payments.

Pushing tax planning to the evasion level is an Intellectual Liability not an IA. Reputation should mean more than dickering about to save paying fair taxation.

Innovation Awards

maiden-voyage

Young businesses can get increased exposure and brand awareness by entering for industry awards. There is the potential to win not only cash but prizes in kind such as professional advice and contact with other entrepreneurs.
www.maiden-voyage.com a young business aimed at the female traveller has been short listed for the innovation awards at the business travel show.

Laura Ashley Colour Scheme

Laura Ashley

I like the clean cut image that is promoted by Laura Ashley’s ‘Fresh Green’ colour scheme. If you offer a design service as Laura Ashley does then it seems sensible to be at the top of your own game as well. (No cobblers children and shoes here).

A nit pick about the 2009 web site re Environmental Reports, they eulogise about 2006 even though they supply 2008 data. Attention to detail is important if they want to live up to the claim to be a ‘Luxury British Brand’.

St John Ambulance Logo

No Logo

St John Ambulance logo is a registered trademark. The charity says it may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without the prior consent and written permission of St. John Ambulance National Headquarters. Fair enough, I have taken it off this site although there were at least 20 copies available on the internet.

St John Ambulance are currently recruiting a Head of Service Delivery to ‘challenge the status quo’ so I hope the good work the charity does becomes more widely known and promoted.

St John Ambulance Supplies is the part of the organisation that offers a wide range of first aid products for sale. A worthwhile extension of the brand that deserves wider exposure.

Long Strap Lines

new-picture

New logos need to accommodate the web image they will produce. Fantasy Formula 1 has a long and sleek logo not unlike the F1 cars Ferrari, Brawn GP and Red Bull. So Fantasy Formula 1 is fit for purpose even though my fantasy performance was more of a nightmare than a fantasy.

With wide screen viewing far more popular consider elongated logos not squat dumpy logos

Look before you Name

Launching a new business with a catchy name seems like a good idea but try to see into the future. Many Opticians have used this play on words to catch the eye of the customer in fact I know there are two different businesses, relatively close together, with this name.

I can turn a blind eye to bad puns as easily as the next person but when I want professional insight into my medical problems I will opt for someone who isn’t wearing sunglasses. This shop may be a ’site for sore eyes’ but even a blind man can see it is a gaudy eyesore making a spectacle of the business.

Tizer Canned for Poor Web Fizz

f

tizer

Tizer ‘the appetiser’.  Re launched in 2007 with a new recipe based on the original 1924 product. Why play around in the first place? Consumers will stay loyal to a brand that delivers today what they have always had and loved, they do not like change.

Number one slot for Tizer on Google is an embarrassing waste by brand owners AG Barr. There is only one other page and it lists the terms of a long finished competition and a pop-up of something I can’t even get on the back button.

Border Biscuits

borders

Borders means book retailers to a lot of literate folk but to the hungry it means biscuits with an ‘S’ and mighty fine ones at that.
Crumbs as there marketing blurb says ‘Put trust in God and keep your biscuits in a cool dry place’ or opt for that famous Scottish pudding Tartan Custard.

NJT Embroidery Yorkshire

njt

If you see great 4 x 4’s  vehicles traveling around Yorkshire with NJT Embroidery plastered all over the bodywork it isn’t a new process for embroidering metal but a clever promotion of this branded personalised clothing business. Whilst fleeces, jumpers and polos are standard products everything is available from personalised Horse Blankets to designer named Executive Clothing.

Most of the personalised items will be allowed for tax purposes so promote your brand image with embroidered clothing from Yorkshire.
