Retail IP Threshers

new-picture-21

The closure of 370 Off Licenses due to the administration of First Quench Retailing is hitting all brands in the stable. Supermarket sales are still being blamed for the demise. It was the same in 2005 when ‘Unwins’ went down only to be bought  by, you guessed it, Threshers.

Location, Location, Location the mantra of retail business IP needs to be supported by competitive edge presented in a viable business model. One of the more viable model to come out of this administration is KPMG who handle this and the Unwins receivership.

I hope the remaining stores find new backing plus enough innovation and margin from sales to survive and prosper. We do not want to see ‘the Offie’ go to the wall.
